Alright, look. We don’t even like cooking at home, let alone outside. And therefore we certainly don’t understand people that go camping and try to make meals they wouldn’t even try at home. Yes, let’s pack 40 pounds more equipment and try things over an open campfire flame or on a camp stove instead of just going with foil and butter… but this. Ohhh this!

Chocolate chip cookies in your tent. Mmmmm…

So the way to cook while camping and glamping is with an outdoor oven and 2-burner camp stove combination like this one from Camp Chef. Take this all-in-one stove on your next trip.

Food is one of the great things about camping. Even we will admit that. Regardless of how we feel about cooking. Okay, so we get it, just a little. Designed to be both portable and versatile, the Outdoor Camp Oven will provide you with the heat necessary to cook anything from a breakfast skillet to your favorite baked breads and cookies. Cook cornbread, casseroles, biscuits, and many other foods.

Please note that this gets hot on all sides and cannot be used indoors or on a plastic table. It needs to be on a level surface. It needs room to breathe. Like we do when someone takes us camping in the July heat.

We would suggest trying it at home first to get used to the oven temp setting. Like you try someone out by moving them in before you marry them. Too bad humans don’t come with a money back guarantee.

So if you’re purchasing the Camp Chef 2 Burner Camping Stove and Outdoor Oven you may want to think about two more things.

  1. If you want to adapt to a 5-pound propane tank, purchase the Camp Chef 5 Foot Bulk Tank Hose Adapter for use with disposable bottle regulators HRDSP
  2. You may also want to purchase the Camp Chef Deluxe Outdoor Camp Oven Carry Bag for schlepping it to and fro.

When you’re camping with the Outdoor Camp Oven you can prepare delicious homemade meals without leaving the campsite. This oven unlocks all the cooking capabilities of a home oven and range.

The camp oven is so efficient and well insulated that it allows you to bake more with less fuel. This insulation allows the oven to heat up much faster and retain the heat. In order for it to be held to camping regulations, it had to have a manual temperature control instead of an automatic temperature control, like your home oven.

For best results do not pre-heat the oven like you would in your home oven. Simply light the oven, then put the food in, and monitor the temperature. If the temp rises to high, simply crack the door to release some of the heat.

Some Buyer Reviews of the Camp Chef 2 Burner Camping Stove and Outdoor Oven:

Will It Last? One reviewer said, “I have now owned this for 6 years. TONS of use and I swear by it. Had a knob break, but that was with rough handling while harsh mountain camping.”

“I bought this to make an outdoor kitchen on my lanai. It is perfect! It lights every time. I can fit 2 full sized skillets on the burners (bacon and eggs for the family) and i have used the far to bake a cake, cinnamon rolls, and meatloaf…it keeps me from heating up my house in the summer. I absolutely love it.”

“this maybe the greatest camping purchase ever. I bought it and immediately brought it to a campground/festival we were at for 8 days of no hookup camping in Maine. I removed the oven from my RV because it took up a lot of space and those ovens seem to heat unevenly. I put in a cook top.

This oven/cooktop was the bomb. I made 3 pies (two peach, one blueberry), using the Pillsbury refrigerator crust, puff pastry (topped with Newfoundland snow crab), two batches of biscuits, baked haddock, countless pots of pour over coffee, one successful latte two unsuccessful lattes, a giant pot of steamers, reheated clam chowder, melted 3 sticks of butter, popcorn in a big pot, cookies, you get the idea

we went through 4-5 pounds of propane.

The good:
easy lighting for the oven and the burners
even temperature, I turned things in the oven a few times
pretty good temperature control; one person suggested checking every 15 minutes I agree
easy to clean
nice baffle for the burners
good height to go on the camping kitchen
sturdy with a good carrying case (bought separately)
it uses 1 lb canisters

the less good:
large burner surface, I had to get a grate to use my camping espresso/latte
with high winds and low temps the oven struggles to keep up, i plan to make a blanket for it
it takes up space during packing, we RV camp so we have it
the burners are only 7500 BTU, we struggled with a big pot of steamers (it was chilly out). a large square pan to use both burners would help”
